Nazareno Ferruggio

Nazareno Ferruggio born in 1981, Bari in Italy is considered one of the most refined Italian master pianists. He is active in the promotion of classical music in contemporary culture.

Graduated with full grades, full awards and honors at the Niccolo Piccini State Conservatory of Music in Bari in the class of Pierluigi Camicia and after completing a postgraduate course at the Musikhochschule Mannheim (Germany) in the class of Ragna Schirmer, he completed his studies in the Musikhochschule Bern (Switzerland) with Rada Petkova. He also attended Masterclasses with prestigious teachers such as J. Achucarro, K.H. Kaemmerling and Jerome Lowenthal, J. Soriano, O.Yablonskaya.

He makes his debut as a soloist with the Sinfonica van Bari orchestra and played Beethoven's Fantasy with an 80-member choir and orchestra, conducted by Nicola Scardicchio.

He won eighteen first prizes in national and international competitions. In 2005 he won the prestigious Piano International Competition Ibla Grand best prize for the pieces by Debussy. 

In 2006, he debuted at Carnegie Hall in New York and also gave concerts in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA. In 2007 he received the Liszt Special prize at the 8th Grieg International Piano Competition in Oslo. In 2008 he won a prize and a Rotary Scholarship at the Pianale Academy in Fulda (Germany). And in 2009 he won first prize at the International piano competition 'Premio Valentino'.

In 2007 he toured extensively in Indonesia, where he also gave master classes. He performed recitals in Jakarta and Surabaya. He also made his debut in the Wiener Saal in Salzburg in 2008He was also a finalist at the Gina Bachauer Piano Competition in Salt Lake City.

After winning several prizes at the "Ibla Grand Prize" and the "Grieg International Piano Competition" in Oslo, he started his career inviting him to perform in some of the world's most important concert halls: Carnegie Hall, Lindemann Hall , Cheong Ju Arts Center, Rosengarten, Wiener Saal, Palau de la Musica, Auditorium de Leon, Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center (XV Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition), Teatru Manoel, Teatro Municipal (Lima), Conservatori Municipal de Musica de Barcelona, Palacio de Bellas Artes Mexico City, Parco della Musica Auditorium, Casa della Musica - Quito.He has given concerts and recitals in New York, London, Singapore, Yangon, Budapest, Mexico City, Sydney, Melbourne, Jakarta, Oslo, Munich, Copenhagen, Stockholm, La Valletta, Milan, Lima, Barcelona, ​​Innsbruck, Venice, Hong Kong, Rome, Cheong Ju, Hamamatsu, Little Rock, Cologne, Geneva, Amsterdam, Guatemala, Mannheim, Bern and Bari.

Nazareno has played by invitation at the following music festivals: Sommets du classique, International Spring Festival, Cantiere internazionale di musica Contemporanea, Festival della Musica Contemporanea in Lima, Ascoli Piceno Festival, Festival Liszt in Milan, Raices 2015 Mexico. [Quote needed]

He was a soloist with ICO Orchestra Provincia di Bari, ICO Orchestra della Magna Grecia, Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, Orquestra Sinfonica de Michoacan MAV Orchestra Budapest. He played piano concertos led by conductors such as Nicola Scardicchio, Brian Schembri, Karl Martin, Hakan Sensoy, Claudio Morbo, Gordon Campbell.

Mr. Ferruggio is a visiting professor at the University of Suwon in South Korea and the Norwegian Music Academy, Escuela Superior de musica in Mexico City, Academy of Ars in Novi Sad and Conservatorio superior de Castellon.

Nazareno has recorded three CDs: Theme et Variations, Live in Barcelona and Live in London  (the Wide Classique label)
